Sonahn Lee is an artist who explores the tension between what is visible and what is not through painting. What once seemed clear or complete begins to fall apart; the closer one looks, the more the image fades. Attempts to fully grasp or define the subject only blur its edges—forms dissolve, and meanings become elusive.
Yet the more indistinct the image, the more deeply it resonates.
She captures uncanny sensations in close relationships and moments of uncertainty, using ordinary architecture and fleeting scenes as metaphors for emotional distance. Through repeated acts of erasure and overpainting, her work emphasizes the image’s inherent instability.

이선안은 보이는 것과 보이지 않는 것 사이의 긴장을 회화로 기록한다.
완벽하다고 믿었던 장면은 어긋나고, 가까이 볼수록 흐려진다. 선명하게 이해하려는 시도는 오히려 경계를 허물고, 형태를 흩뜨리며 실체를 모호하게 만든다. 그러나 흐려질수록 더 깊이 각인된다고 믿는다.
그의 작업은 가까운 관계에서 느껴지는 낯선 감각과 불확실한 순간을 포착한다. 일상의 건축물과 스쳐 지나가는 장면을 닿을 수 없는 거리감의 은유로 삼고, 지우기와 덧칠을 반복하는 과정을 통해 이미지의 불완전성을 드러낸다.
